Tommy McGee was born on September 1, 1949 in Macon, MS to the late Walter Ward and Lucile Boyd McGee. He graduated from Noxubee County High School in Macon. He then graduated from East Mississippi Junior College and from Mississippi State University. He moved to Jackson, MS where he managed the Cardinal Paper Company for six years. In 1977 he married Clemie Sparkman and in 1979 they moved back to the Macon area. For several years Tommy worked at Murray Supply Company and later at Chancellor Wholesale Company before becoming the area sales representative for the Moorman Feed Company. He retired from Moorman’s after over twenty years of service and focused on his growing taxidermy business, which he had begun while in Jackson. Specializing in deer mounts, it is estimated that he mounted over two thousand deer mounts during his lifetime. Tommy was a longtime member of Cooksville United Methodist Church. He was a passionate deer hunter who also loved to fish. He was locally known to be an excellent marksman with his rifles and he enjoyed handloading his own ammunition, always searching for that perfect combination to attain the best accuracy from his rifle.

Tommy McGee is survived by his wife, Clemie; his daughter: Lou Bennett (Blain) of Starkville, MS and his son: Ward McGee (Mallory) of Macon. He is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren: Colton Bennett, Brooke McGee, Blake McGee, and Brent McGee.
