Tina Boykin Hunter, 55, of Gulf Shores, AL passed away of a brain aneurysm on Wednesday,
November 15, 2023, South Baldwin County Regional Medical Center, Foley, AL.
Tina was born August 16, 1968, in Columbus, MS, as the only daughter of Kenny and Patricia Boykin.
She graduated in 1986 from Central Academy in Macon, MS, and EMCC in 1988. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Allen Hunter. They were married for twenty-nine years and made their home in Starkville, MS. Michael and Tina owned and operated a pet store for several years. She worked for twenty years at Ford Vision Clinic for Dr. Reagan Ford. Dr. Reagan and Linda Ford and their family was Tina’s second family. Tina moved to Gulf Shores, AL, in 2018, and fulfilled her dream of living near the beach. While in Gulf Shores, Tina managed Orange Beach Marina for two years, and worked for Coastal Family Eye Care in Orange Beach, AL, where she loved her patients as much as they loved her. Tina loved the sun, sand and water and loved spending time with family, especially her two-year-old granddaughter. She loved traveling, especially cruises. She was a nurturing person who would go out of her way to help others. Even though Tina moved from Starkville, her love for MS State Bulldogs never wavered. Hail State!
Tina is survived by her mother, Patricia Conner Boykin, of Louisville, MS, one son, Jackson Tyler Hunter (Janna), one granddaughter, Elora Leigh Hunter of Grenada, MS, one brother, Kenny Ray Boykin (Jenny), Louisville, MS, and two nephews, Mitchell Boykin (Kristen) of Louisville, MS and Zach Boykin of Birmingham, AL. Her very best friend for over twenty-five years was Ginny Ford Parrish, who was like a sister to her.
A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Macon, MS on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Bill Ross will officiate the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Moore Cemetery in Macon, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to be made to ST. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
