Thomas Albert Jones

Thomas Albert Jones, 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.    He was born on September 3, 1934, in Monahans, Texas, to Finis Albert and Laura Parnell Jones.    Tom attended Texas Tech University where he majored in history.   Upon graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army.  In 1964, he married Elizabeth Claire Prince (Libba) and the couple welcomed a son Jefferson into their lives in 1969.  A passionate educator, Tom served as a teacher and administrator with the Mobile County Public Schools until his retirement.  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his son Jeff and his wife Melaney of Auburn, Alabama, and two grandchildren, Parker and Morgan. There will be no public services. Private interment was held in Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon, MS. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
