Visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 5:30:8:00.m. at the church. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

My dear husband, our father, papa, son, brother, and friend, Roger Allen Koehn was born on October 15, 1958, to Clarence and Celesta Koehn at Turlock, California. He peacefully passed away at his home in rural Macon, Mississippi, with his family around his bedside on the evening of September 9, 2021.

At the age of fourteen he moved with his parents to Noxubee County, Mississippi. He accepted the call of God unto salvation when he was fifteen years old. He was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on February 24, 1974, by Min. Don Seiler. He was steadfast and faithful to the end.

He married me, Colleen Unruh, the love of his life, on April 6, 1980. Our home was blessed with four children: Betsy Koehn, Brooksville, Mississippi; Seth and Karla Koehn; and Katie Koehn, all of Macon, Mississippi; angel daughter Anni Lorraine; and five grandchildren: Asher, Bentley, Jade, angel daughter Hadley, and Ellington, which in recent days he referred to as “our circus.”

Roger had a special way with his mother-in-law Lorraine Unruh. Lorraine appreciated his kindness towards her.

He was keenly aware of God’s blessings, and his benevolence touched many lives. His priority was to keep his Christian life current with God. Roger was the successful owner of Southern Seed and Feed for thirty-eight years. He was very appreciative of all his business relationships and employees.

Our dad was our rock. He taught us how to treat and love all mankind. Dad left us a path to follow. He showed us how to attain a dedicated Christian life. There was so much more to this life than the financial pursuit of the world. Dad’s strong work ethic prepared us for life. Dad lived his life first for God and then his wife and family. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing. Our parents enjoyed their winters in Sarasota, Florida. It was the highlight of their lives. He made many lifelong friends there. We enjoyed spending many good times with our dear friends Tim and Brenda Koehn (Roger’s 1 st cousin) fishing and traveling. He enjoyed helping others in the time of need, both physically and spiritually. He was a friend to all.

Roger and I had many more dreams to fulfill in life, but God makes no mistakes.

Those beside his wife, children, and grandchildren left to cherish his memories are his parents, Clarence and Celesta Koehn, Brooksville, Mississippi; his siblings: Fern and Ken Johnson of Macon, Mississippi; Jim and Carmen Koehn, Dumas, Arkansas; Deatta and Mike Lackey, of Independence, Missouri; Steve and Diane Koehn, Brooksville, Mississippi; and Keith and Brenda Koehn, Moundridge, Kansas.

Colleen’s siblings: Paula and Eldon Giesbrecht, Macon, Mississippi; Debra and Dalen Ratzlaff, Guntersville, Alabama; and Anita and Jay Livesy, Bridgewater, Maine; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and an infant granddaughter, his mother-in-law and his father-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
