Robert “Chico” Oswalt, 57, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 10, 2018. A memorial service is planned for Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Noxubee Full Gospel Christian Center in Macon, MS. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Cockrell Funeral Home for his funeral expenses. Cockrell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Robert Wayne Oswalt, known to all as Chico, was born on January 18, 1961 to Joe Wilson and Mary Inez Trevino Oswalt in Casablanca, Africa while his dad served in the military. On July 20, 1979 he married Brenda Moore and they lived in Greenville, Mashulaville and in the Nanih Waiya community before they made their home in Macon, MS. Chico worked as a riverboat captain for my years, owned and operated Chico’s Country Store in Nanih Waiya and most recently worked at Senter’s Hardware and Appliance of Macon, MS. He had a heart for others and would do anything for those in need. He attended Noxubee Full Gospel Christian Center and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events.
Chico is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Railee Daniel and sister, Debbie Blackburn.
Chico is survived by his wife: Brenda Oswalt, his parents: Joe Wilson and Mary Inez Oswalt; son Robert Oswalt (Melissa); Jessica Daniel (Jerry, Jr.); brothers: Jimmy Oswalt (Deanean); Joe Oswalt Jr. (Debbie); Alex Oswalt (Roxanne); sister: Mary Jordan and grandchildren, Tristen Stanley, Kaden Stanley, Ashlyn Oswalt, Gavin Daniel and Leland Daniel .
