Born “Norma Jean Eaves” on December 6,1942 to the late Troy Neil Eaves and Martha Jane Smith Eaves of Brooksville, MS. She graduated from Noxubee County High School and later attended Mississippi State University. She married J. Rex Parker and began working at the American Bosch facility in Columbus to allow her husband to obtain his degree at MSU. They moved to Starkville, a few years later. where she excelled in real estate sales with Starkville Real Estate/Coldwell Banker Her passion was finding someone the right home. Her career path took her to REMAX after they moved to Jackson metro area. Later they moved to Tupelo, MS where she and her husband opened and operated an “Express Personnel” franchise for over 16 years until ill health forced them to retire. At this point in their lives, they moved back to Jackson where they lived out their years. She became her husband’s primary caregiver in the final season of his life until his passing in 2015. In this she excelled, just as she had in her other life’s pursuits. Because she cared so deeply, it was always very important for her to help someone find a home or a job, to do her very best in supporting her husband,

to coach her children, grandchildren, and many others! She wanted them ready for Days like these. Jean was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Mrs. Jean Parker is survived by a daughter: Priscilla Young (Marvin) of Jackson, MS and a son: Jim Parker of Tupelo MS. Also left to mourn are four grandchildren: Sarah Jessica Parker, Daniel Rex Parker (Rachel), Andrew Scott Kemmerer and Parker Lee Kemmerer. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother: Larry Eaves.
