Noble Watkins (Wally) Fennell, Jr. 79 of Crawford, MS passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. A graveside service is planned for Monday April 5, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville, MS with Bro. Bill Ross officiating. A visitation will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home, Macon, MS from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2021. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
Wally was born on December 15, 1941 to the late Noble Watkins, Sr. and Elizabeth Gothie Fennell in Tarrant City, Alabama. He graduated from Tarrant City High School, attended Tennessee Military Institute and Howard College. He began his working career in residential real estate sales in Hoover, AL under Art Rice Reality Company and continued with various realtors throughout his early career. He established Fennell Reality Company having collaborated with Sherwood Stamps and Urban Residential Development in Shelby County. Wally became a land developer with farms and rural residential tracts. He was a wildlife conservationist and developer. He enjoyed being with close childhood friends and looked forward to making new friends as well. Wally is preceded in death by his parents and special friend, Vickie Merriott.
Wally is survived by two sons: Noble Watkins (Trey)Fennell, III of Helena, AL and Dean Lawrence Fennell of Crawford, MS; and a sister, Jane Fennell of Helena, AL
