Nickey Dickson Stuart

July 20, 1923 — August 25, 2019

Mrs. Nickey Dickson Stuart, 96, of Macon, MS passed away at her home on Sunday, August 26, 2019.  A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Cemetery.  There will not be a visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Cemetery Fund, 23 Hunter St., Macon, MS  39341, Sweet Paws Rescue, P.O. Box 32, Macon, MS  39341 or the donor’s choice. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Nickey Dickson Stuart was born on July 20, 1923 in  Memphis, TN.  to the late Jesse Dickson and Ella Louise Richardson Dickson. She and her family moved to Macon, MS  in 1939. Mrs. Stuart was a graduate of Macon High School and Draughn’s Business College. On January 9, 1946,  she married Roy Stuart, Sr. To this union brought a son, Roy Stuart, Jr. Nickey was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a life member of Macon Junior Auxiliary. She worked as a secretary to the president at Bank First Financial Services until she retired.  Nickey is preceded in death by her parents; Step-father, Earl Dickson;  her husband, Roy Stuart, Sr.,  and sister, Mildred Marmon.

Nickey’s survivors include her son: Roy Stuart (Marianne) of  Macon, MS; grand daughter: Morgan Stuart Roberts (Haydn) of  Brandon, MS; three step-grandchildren: Lee Lindley (Stacey) of Madison, MS, Meg Ebert (Jason) of Columbus, MS, Kate Norris (Nathan) of Foley, AL.; great-grandchildren, Mary Milton, Sarah Beth, John Stuart and George Anderson Roberts, Addison, Maggie and Carter Lindley, Sloan and  Molly Norris; sister, Earline Dugan of Hernando, MS and a number of nieces and nephews.
