Maude Faith Crabtree

Maude Faith Crabtree passed to her Heavenly home Monday morning leaving quite the legacy.  Faith was born April 10, 1933 in Macon, MS and reared in the same house from which she was born.  Faith attended and graduated from Macon High School, where she was Miss MHS, Most Intellectual, and Homecoming Maid for 4 years.

She married Bob Crabtree and they were blessed with 5 beautiful children after which time she attended Texas Christian University and graduated with high honors in only 3 years with a degree in Education.  She taught school until Bob’s job transferred the family to San Diego, CA.  She returned to school at San Diego State University where she graduated with a Masters’ Degree in Social Work.  After Bob retired, they returned to their roots in Starkville, MS.  She continued her social work with the State of Mississippi Health Department until her retirement.  She was an active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church here in Starkville.  She and Bob were avid followers of the MSU Girls Basketball team, where they held season tickets and never missed a game.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Crabtree, her son, Dennis Crabtree, her parents, Spence and Alice Guy, and her sister, Dolly Coke.  She is survived by her son Don Crabtree (Diana), Lucille Conway (Tommy), Alicia Ryals (Mitchell), Tim Crabtree (Kimber); sisters Mary Nell Gill and Nancy Cotton (David); grandchildren Lyndsey Crabtree, Spence Crabtree, Duston Cline (Kat), Kodi Cline (Shauna), Colt and Denni Grace Crabtree (Kelly), Crystal Ross (Trent), Kristen Andrews (Jim), Rebecca Bachmeier (Rick), Tyler Crabtree, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is scheduled Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at  Aldersgate Methodist Church, Starkville, MS.  Graveside service will be Thursday 8/2/2018 at 10 am at Salem Memorial Church, Macon, MS.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Faith’s name to Salem Memorial Church Cemetery Fund at 23 Hunter Street, Macon, MS 39341.
