Mrs. Mary Patterson Crabtree, 87, of Macon, MS passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 A.M. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon with Bro. Bill Ross officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment in Salem Cemetery near Macon will immediately follow the funeral service. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the service arrangements.

Mary Patterson Crabtree was born in Pontotoc County, MS to the late Jasper Fulton and Daisy Sudduth Patterson. She was a graduate of Macon High School and worked at the Macon Pants Factory for thirteen years. Later she worked at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon for over twenty years until her  retirement. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading, but most of all she loved the time spent with her family. She often helped her husband, Theodore Crabtree, in the fields during the soybean harvest. Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Doug Stapleton; two sisters: Leona Hildreth and Minnie Williams; and by two brothers: Jack Patterson and Everette Patterson.

Mrs. Crabtree is survived by her husband: Theodore Crabtree of Macon; two daughters: Christine (Richard) Mullens of Baldwyn, MS and Helen (Claude) Richardson of Louisville, MS; two step-daughters: Debbie Stapleton and Diane Tiffin, both of Macon and by her son: Randy Stapleton (Debbie) of Macon and her step-son: Rusty Crabtree (Kathy) of Van Cleave, MS. She also leaves behind one sister: Jimmie Patterson of Laurel, MS along with nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and by six great-great-grandchildren.
