Martha Lavender Mcgeoch

Martha Lavender Pugh McGeoch, 91, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 21 , 2 022, surrounded by her family in M emphis, Tennessee.

Martha was born on August 3, 1930 in Brooksville, Mississippi to Gus and Grace Lavender. She married Lloyd Leon Pugh on April, 1946, who preceded her in death in June 1984. She began her career as a telephone operator with South Central Bell in Macon, Mississippi and was a devoted employee for 30 years.

Following her marriage to George Philip McGeoch in 1987, they moved from Boston to Asheville, North Carolina where she was an active member of Weaverville Presbyterian Church. She loved to serve her Lord in a variety of roles. She was always looking to help someone in need with words of encouragement, deeds and citation of scripture. In 2017 they relocated to Memphis. Martha was heavily involved in her church whether it was in Macon, MS, Wea v erville, NC or Memphis, TN. One of her favorite activities was planning and attending women's bible study groups. She loved doting on her grandchildren and working in her garden.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind her three children: Linda Farrow (Mike) of Memphis, Tennessee; Lee Pugh (Joan) of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Libby Jones (Johnny) of Madison, Mississippi as well as grandchildren, Jenny, Emily, Bradley, Lloyd, Monica, Kylee, Lianna, Nicolas, step granddaughter Shauna, 8 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

A g raveside service is planned for Wednesday, April 27th, at 1:30 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon, MS. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials
