Mae B. White Higginbotham was born on December 30, 1934, to the late Frank and Mamie Goodin White near the Winston County Line. She attended school in Lynnville, MS. She married George Higginbotham in October, 1952. They moved to Arkansas where she began working at the Singer Sewing Machine Plant. In 1963, Mae and her husband moved to Shuqualak, MS where they made their home and raised two children. Mae was employed with the pants factory, glove factory and jacket factories during her working life. After retirement, she and George would sell merchandise at the flea markets in Forest and Philadelphia. She and her husband enjoyed following their grandsons as they played baseball during their school days. Mae loved to grow flowers and garden. Mae and her husband, George, were married for sixty- two years before he passed away. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law, John E. Trosper, two sisters and four brothers.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Georgia Trosper of Union, MS; James Melvin Higginbotham (Linda) of Shuqualak, MS; a sister, Alice Smith of Arkansas; two brothers, John White of Hardy, AK and Jack White of Laurel, MS; two grandsons, and four great grandchildren.
