Kenny was born on August 5, 1970 in the hospital in Macon to Gayle Hisaw Persons and the late Charles Bennie Persons. He was a 1988 graduate of Central Academy in Macon and rode the bus for all twelve years that his mother drove each day. He later graduated from East Mississippi Junior College in Scooba. Kenny had ridden on the Sunbeam bread truck route with his father, Bennie, for many years as a child and young man and he began his working career with Sunbeam Bakery of Meridian, MS on the same bread route and remained there for twelve years. After the Sunbeam Bakery sold to the Colonial Bakery CO., he then began working for Tem’s Food Market in Macon where he was a valued employee for over eighteen years. Kenny met many people and made lots of friends through both his bread route and through his position at the grocery store. He was a quiet, hard-working person who missed seeing his friends and coworkers after health problems forced his retirement. He did enjoy keeping up with everyone on “Facebook”.  Kenny enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves playing their respective sports. He also enjoyed taking care of his dog “Buddy”. He was always glad to see friends and family and to have a chance to visit with them. Kenny attended Shuqualak Baptist Church and never missed a service unless he was just too sick to go.

Kenny Persons is survived by his mother: Gayle Hisaw Persons and by his sister: Kathy Persons, both of Shuqualak. Also left behind are two aunts: Carolyn Hisaw and Susan Hisaw Moore as well as a number of cousins. He was preceded in death his father; his grandparents: J.C and Myrtle Persons and Robert and Annie Beth Hisaw. Other aunts and uncles preceding Kenny in death include James Persons, Joe and Dorothy Gutierrez, Berlin and Virginia Hisaw, Embree and Willie Pearl Hisaw, Marion Hisaw, Fannie Hisaw, Bertie Jo Hisaw, and Joy and Vandorne Ming.
