Kathy Weaver Bradford

d. May 18, 2024

Mary Katherine Weaver Bradford, known to her loved ones as Kathy, passed away on May 18, 2024 in Ozark, Alabama. She was born on December 12, 1956 in Macon, Mississippi to Bobby and Bessie Jo Weaver.

Kathy dedicated herself to a career with the government civil service for an impressive forty years before retiring. Her work ethic was unparalleled and she made countless contributions through her dedication to public service.

But beyond all else that defined Kathy's life were the moments she spent surrounded by family. She cherished every opportunity to be with them – from watching John Wayne movies together to sharing stories about their lives. Her love for reading took her on countless adventures within the pages of books while living abroad enriched her understanding of different cultures around the world.

A woman of strength and grace who touched so many hearts during her time here with us has now left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her deeply. Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Jo Weaver.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband of many years, James R. Bradford Jr., her son James R. Bradford III and his wife Susanne Bradford; daughter Jennifer Drexler and her husband Danny Drexler; grandsons Dylan Bradford (Prima), Jackson Bradford, Michael Battles; granddaughters Katelyn Battles, Jessica Battles; Hayley Bradford;  father, Bobby Joe Weaver (Nancy); sister Joy Marro and brother Bob Weaver (Lisa) and nephews Justin (Natalie) and Ziggy (Laura) Marro.

The family invites friends and well-wishers alike to join them at Shuqualak Cemetery for a graveside service on Thursday May 23rd at 1pm where they will gather together one last time in honor of Kathy's memory. In lieu of flowers or other gestures of sympathy at this difficult time, donations can be made in Kathy’s name to support the Wounded Warriors Fund, P.O. Box 758516 Topeka, KS  66675-8516  - an organization close to Kathy’s heart due its mission supporting veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country.
