Mrs. Jeanette Daniel Mapp, 87, of Macon, MS passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Columbus, MS on Friday, June 16, 2023. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel in Macon, MS. Interment will follow in Shuqualak Cemetery in Shuqualak, MS. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060 or Elon Baptist Church, P.O. Mary Jeanette Daniel was born on April 20, 1936, to Cecil Clarence and Vista Mae Jones Daniel at Electric Mills, MS. She graduated from Shuqualak High School and soon afterward went to work at Noxubee County Welfare Department where she met and married her husband, Allen Howell Mapp, Jr. in 1963. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years before returning to work at the Noxubee County Circuit Clerk’s office until her retirement. Mrs. Mapp was a member of Elon Baptist Church, a life member of Macon Junior Auxiliary, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, serving as President. She taught children’s Sunday school and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Mapp was involved in several civic organizations. She loved sewing, working with her yard and house. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen H. Mapp, Jr., and her sister, Louise Joyce Hayes.
Jeanette is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Randazzo of Clinton, and Cynthia Campassi (Dave) of Prattville, AL; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers Robert Cecil Daniel and Walter Charles Daniel.
