Mrs. Jean Prince Skinner, 90, passed away at her residence Saturday, April 28, 2018. A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Shuqualak Cemetery in Shuqualak, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel from 9- 11 a.m. The family requests no flowers, please. Memorials may be made to Shuqualak United Methodist Church P.O. Box 34 Shuqualak, MS 39361.
Jean Prince was born to the late James Enos and Annie Creekmore Prince on July 29, 1927 in Electric Mills, MS. She grew up in Shuqualak, MS where she graduated from Shuqualak High School. She attended East Mississippi Junior College and began working at Shuqualak Oil Company, which was owned by her father. Jean married Earle Skinner in 1947 and moved to the Macon area where they made their home and reared their family on the farm. Jean continued running the Shuqualak branch of the oil company until ill health forced her to retire. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and working in her yard.
Jean Prince Skinner was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter: Alice “Pete” Skinner of Shuqualak and her son: Bill Skinner(Tracy)of Macon. She also leaves behind one brother: Jimmy (Phyllis) Prince of Philadelphia, MS as well as two grandsons: Will (Kelly) Skinner and Lee (Chelsie) Skinner and three great-grandchildren, Avery, Brooke and Rylee Skinner.
