Franklin E. Crabtree

Mr. Franklin E. Crabtree passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Salem Memorial Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Cemetery Fund, 23 Hunter St., Macon, MS  39341. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Franklin Everette Crabtree was born March 13, 1937 in Macon, Mississippi to the late C.T.  and the late Vera Moore Crabtree. He graduated from Noxubee County High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 until 1960. Frank married Elsie Lewis on September 5, 1965 and worked for the  U. S. Postal Service for thirty three years. Frank was a member of Salem Memorial Church but in recent years he and Elsie attended First United Methodist Church. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his family at his wife’s home place in Iuka, MS. Frank also enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Crabtree.

Frank is survived by his loving wife: Elise Crabtree of Macon, MS,  daughter; Angela (Lance) Gatlin of Purvis, MS.; brothers, Theodore Crabtree of Macon, MS and John Crabtree of Tupelo, MS and his granddaughter, Vera Claire Gatlin.
