Franklin “Frankie” Eugene Boykin, 85, of Brooksville, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home peacefully Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi surrounded by his family. Frankie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle that will be deeply missed.

Frankie was born September 2, 1936, in Noxubee County to his parents Bill and Willie Sue Smith Boykin.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with funeral service following in chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Ross officiating. Interment will be at Soule Chapel Cemetery in Macon, MS.

Frankie served in the US Navy from 1957-1961 stationed in Long Beach, California. Frankie retired from Mississippi State University MAFES Black Belt Experiment Station in Brooksville, MS after 42 years of service where he served as Operations Manager.

After retirement you could find Frankie with his coffee club group at The Ole Country Bakery in Brooksville, MS solving the world’s problems. In his spare time, he enjoyed rabbit hunting and running his dogs with his buddies.

Frankie is proceeded in death by his parents; one brother B J Boykin; three sisters Helen Boykin Lane, Odell Boykin Little, and Edith Boykin Burch.

Frankie is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years Mary Jane Boykin. He leaves one son Greg (Patrice) Boykin of Mount Olive, MS. One daughter Kristi (Heath) Beard of Ethelsville, AL. One Brother Jimmy Boykin of Brooksville, MS. Two Grandsons Bradley (Argentina) and Alex Boykin, and one granddaughter Heather Beard; and three great grandchildren Kalana, Kali, and Kaia.

Pallbearers will be Bradley and Alex Boykin, Michael Jones, Bobby Jefferson, Jon and Justin Miles, and Jake McCullough.
