Frances Singleton Flora

Frances S. Flora a long-time resident of Macon, MS went to be with her Lord Saturday, May 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Macon, MS. Interment at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800 Nashville, TN 37214-0800. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Frances was born December 25, 1931 to the late H. A. and Ruby Singleton in Watson, Arkansas. When she was a young girl they moved to Macon, MS, where she met the love of her life Cecil Flora. They married August 17, 1946. They were married 63 years until his passing in 2009. Together they purchased Flora’s Grocery and Market in 1969 and operated it until it closed in 1996 and then she worked as a Receptionist for her son at Professional Pest Management, which was in the same location until she retired in 2012. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, cross stitching, singing in the choir, but most of all her passion was taking care of her family and helping with her grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Mrs. Frances as she was known to everyone was preceded in death by her husband Cecil son Winfred, daughter Barbara, son-in-law Mike, her parents, two brothers, two sisters and a great granddaughter. She is survived by her son Tim (Keely), six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
