Frances Bell

Sara Frances Abrams Bell, 86, of Macon, MS passed away peacefully at Noxubee County Nursing Home on    Wednesday, August 7, 2019. Mrs. Bell was the daughter of the late Joseph Jasper and Maggie Lee Bryant Abrams, born the fifth of ten siblings.  She was born and raised in the McLeod Chapel community of Noxubee County and was a graduate of Brooksville High School. In 1952, she married Robert Chester “Bob” Bell, who preceded her in death. Frances, as she was known to family and friends, worked in the garment industry and served as president of the local garment union. She later became the business agent for the AFL-CIO, where she worked until she retired. Frances was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Macon. She enjoyed traveling and was involved in many local     social groups, including the Magnolia Supper Club, the Ageless Wonders, and the Noxubee Garden Club. She loved spending time with all of her family, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

Frances Abrams Bell is survived by her daughter: Debbie Coker of Madison, MS; her son: Gary (Marilyn) Bell of Meridian as well as her two sisters: Barbara Jean Edmonson of Columbus, MS and Donnie Nix of Clinton, MS and her brother: Charles Milton Abrams of Steens, MS.  She  also leaves behind four grandchildren: Stacey and Lee Lindley, Carrie and Jerrod Rayborn, Jacob and Stephanie Bell and William Douglas and Rachel Sharpe and seven great-grandchildren: Addison Lindley, Maggie Lindley, Carter Lindley, Aubrey Bell, Zoey Bell, Anna Sharpe, and Mary Sharpe. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings: Trudy Abrams, Jeff Abrams, Irene Denton, Wesley Abrams, Willie Joe Abrams, and Lynette    Morgan.

The funeral services for Sara Frances Abrams Bell will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Macon at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 with Bro. Bill Ross officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday. Interment will follow at Lynn Creek Cemetery near Brooksville, MS. Memorials are requested to be made to Calvary Baptist Church   105 Dent Street  Macon, MS 39341 or to Lynn Creek Cemetery Fund % Linda Garner  9013 Lynn Creek Road  Brooksville, MS 39739.
