Montezuma - Floyd Koehn was born to Cornelius H. and Lena (Becker) on May 14, 1929 on a farm near Halstead, Kansas. He quietly passed away on March 6, 2023 at Minneola Long Term Care Unit in Minneola, Kansas, reaching the age of 93 years.
His childhood years were spent in several central Kansas locations with the family later moving to Montezuma. In his youth, Dad felt the need of salvation and responded to the Lord's call and was baptized in the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on April 2, 1943 by Minister Carl Dirks at Halstead. He remained faithful to his vows to the end. On June 3, 1951, he was united in marriage to Gladys Koehn in Montezuma by Minister David J. Koehn. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for 60 years. Their first home was in Dodge City where they adopted a daughter, Tona Kay. In the late 1960's, our family moved to Macon, Mississippi, where they adopted a daughter and son, Janice Faye and Keith Dale.
Dad was a carpenter and farmer by trade. He worked hard to provide for his family. Dad was able to fix just about anything. He enjoyed planting a large garden to help feed his family. Dad was very lonely after Mom passed away and moved back to Montezuma to Bethel Home. He enjoyed helping out in the apartments by putting up mail and making the morning coffee. Dad also liked to bake pies for those living in the apartments. Those left to cherish the memories are two children, Keith Koehn and wife Tina of Minneola and Janice Koehn of Minneola; one sister, Delores Koehn of Brooksville, Mississippi; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys; a daughter, Tona Koehn; five brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, Clayton, Marvin, and Melvin; three sisters, Margie Giesbrecht, Betty Brown, and Katherine Unruh; and two grandchildren, Cassandra and Clayton.
