Dorothy W. Fraley

Mrs. Dorothy Wilkins Fraley, 99, of Macon, MS.  passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at Elderly Care in Macon, MS.  A funeral service is planned for Friday, November 23, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Macon Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10-12 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS   39703. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Dorothy Wilkins Fraley was born on December 4, 1918 in Brooksville, MS to the late Joseph Tyson and Willie Hopkins Wilkins, Sr. She was a graduate of Brooksville School in 1936, attended three years at MSCW and graduated from Miss Women’s College in Hattiesburg, MS where she was elected Friendliest. In 1942, she married Charles Carter Fraley, Sr. and they became the parents of Charles Carter Fraley, Jr. (Ellenor); Abbie Fraley Franks (Ronald); Patty Fraley McAlexander (Baird). Mrs. Fraley was a homemaker and business woman. She was one of the best cooks in Noxubee County. She enjoyed making cakes, pies, jellies and jams of which she enjoyed sharing with everyone she knew.

Mrs. Fraley was a member of the Macon Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Macon Pilot Club, Women’s Study Circle, Macon Junior Auxiliary, and Noxubee Garden Club.  Mrs. Dot is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Charlie Fraley, Jr.; a daughter, Abbie Franks;  son-in-law, Baird McAlexander; a grandson; Tyson McAlexander;  a brother, Joe Wilkins and two sisters; Sara Elizabeth Ellis and Louise Anderson.

Mrs. Fraley is survived by her daughter: Patty McAlexander of Macon, MS; two brothers, T.J. Wilkins and Bill Wilkins both of Brooksville, MS., seven grandchildren: Ron Franks, Jeff Franks, Carter Fraley, Shannon Fraley, Ken Crain, Kelly Crain, and Jorga Bryant   and 12 great-grandchildren: Landon, Charlie, Annabelle, Layla, Laurel, Anna Paige, Wesley, Sabrina, Kennedy, Ryan, Carter and Cannon.
