Christy grew up on Butler Road near Shuqualak, MS with her two brothers, Ronald Wayne and Chris Allen Clark. She had a wonderful childhood on the farm where she learned to garden, preserve the vegetables and to cook wonderful meals from her mother Sandra and her “Maw” (her grandmother Christine Clark). She never forgot how she was raised nor lost her work ethic formed on the farm. Christy had a big heart and always wanted to help and care for those around her. She graduated from Nanih Waiya High School and furthered her education at the  University of West Alabama, Livingston, AL with an associate degree in nursing. Christy first married Michael Patterson and had two wonderful sons that she loved so much and of whom she was immensely proud of. Christy began her career as a nurse at Noxubee County Nursing Home. After her time in Shuqualak, she moved to West Point, MS where she used her nursing experience to pursue senior home health care for several years. In West Point, Christy met Eddy Stewart, whom she loved dearly and with whom she spent 14 wonderful years. Throughout her life, she never met a stranger and made lifelong friends that she enjoyed spending time with. While Christy enjoyed cooking and telling stories about her childhood, her favorite past-time was spending time with and spoiling her beautiful granddaughter, Hallie Claire Patterson. Christy was a member of the Butler Pentecostal Church.

Surviving Christy is her father Bud Clark of Shuqualak, MS, her two sons, Haden Patterson (Hannah) of Macon, MS and Joe Patterson, of Huntsville, AL; a companion in life, Eddy Stewart of West Point, MS; two brothers: Ronald Wayne Clark (Amy) of Shuqualak MS and Chris Allen Clark (Brandi) of Macon, MS; granddaughter, Hallie Claire Patterson  and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,  nieces and nephews.
