Christine Eskridge Banks was born in Winston County, Mississippi on November 11, 1926 to the late Samuel Harrison and Maggie Pugh Eskridge. She attended school in Brooksville, MS. On November 25, 1943, she married the love of her life Paul L. Banks. They made their home in Macon where they lived and reared their children. To this union were born five children: Sandra Paulette, Margie Lorene, Michael Ray, Raymond “Rusty” Lester, and Wanda Faye. She was known as an exceptional cook, artist and seamstress who spent many afternoons quilting with her friends. She also loved gardening & sharing the many fruits of her labor. Traveling coast to coast, going on cruises and trips abroad were definitely a favorite, however, her most treasured times were playing Mexican Dominoes and numerous table games with her family and friends, bringing much laughter and “spunk” to the table with her witty and fun personality. Christine was never without a smile for everyone. After her children were grown, Christine worked as a ward secretary at Noxubee General Hospital until she retired. She was a member of the Noxubee Garden Club, The Homemaker’s Club, Magnolia Supper Club, The Quilting Club and Ageless Wonders. Christine was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter: Margie Krohe as well as by her six siblings: T.J. Eskridge, Robert Eskridge, Everette Eskridge, L.C. Eskridge, Minnie Carter, and Trilby Sanders.
