Carroll Wyatt Hailey

Carroll Wyatt Hailey, 56, of Meridian, MS passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian, MS.  A family graveside service was held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Hailey Richey Cemetery in Preston, MS. with Bro. Chris Gully officiating.  Memorials are requested to be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford  Ave., Shreveport, LA  71103. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Carroll Wyatt Hailey was born in Louisville, MS   on February 27, 1963 to Dorothy Faye Stewart Hailey and the late Howard Murray Hailey, Sr. He was a native of Kemper County, MS. Carroll was a graduate of Central Academy, Class of 1981 and was the Salutatorian of his class.  He graduated from East Mississippi Community College and later attended Mississippi State University. Carroll had an interest in horses and barrel racing. He enjoyed his life growing up on a farm. He was a gifted musician in that he could play the trumpet, French horn and piano by ear. He was awarded many scholarships before growing to college. Carroll was a member of the Shuqualak Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father and brother: Howard Murry Hailey, II (Pete).

Carroll is survived by his mother: Dorothy Stewart Hailey of Meridian, MS; his sister: Janie Hailey (Bill) Tarlton of Preston, MS; his four nephews: Bo, Tommy, Wyatt and Charlie Tarlton and niece,  Hailey Tarlton.
