Memorials are requested to the LeBonheurs Children’s Hospital, 848 Adams Avenue, Memphis TN 38102.  Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is honored to be entrusted with the service arrangements.

Bracky “Fat Cat” Aaron was born in Meridian MS on February 5, 1943, to the late Brack and Edie Aaron. He graduated from Cordova High School in Troy, Alabama. He married the love of his life, Betty Williams, on September 9, 1972, and together they made their home in Shuqualak, MS. Bracky is best remembered as a policeman for the Town of Shuqualak Police Department during the 1970s and -80s. As a law officer, he was a friend to all and was very lenient to young people enduring the growing pains of their teenage years. As long as they were respectful of other’s property and were reasonably quiet, he wouldn’t bother them as they went about their ramblings. If they began to get out of hand or if the curfew hour of midnight had passed, “Cat” would “invite” them to leave town or go home. He enjoyed sitting in his car on the street corner in the evenings and talking to the teens about what was going on in their own and their friend’s lives. He always treated everyone with respect, even if they were themselves being disrespectful.  These young people, though now middle-aged and with families of their own, will never forget the “Cat”.  Bracky later began working at and retired from the Barge Lumber Company sawmill in Macon, MS.  He loved Alabama football, fishing, baseball (especially the years when his son, Matthew “Hammer” Aaron, played for Central Academy in Macon). He loved most of all the time spent with his family, especially his three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty after 49 years of marriage and by a brother: Fred Aaron.

Bracky “Fat Cat” Aaron is survived by his son: Matthew (Courtney) Aaron and three granddaughters: Bailey, Remi, and Kimber, all of Columbus, Also left behind are his brother: Jimmy Aaron of Jacksonville, Fla and his brother-in-law: John Williams (Apryl) of Philadelphia, MS, and by several nieces and nephews.
