On Monday February 28 th , 2022, Robert Cornelius “Bobby” Taylor, Jr passed away peacefully at Oktibbeha County Regional Medical Center at the age of 67.

Visitation will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS on March 2 nd from 5pm-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held at Soule Chapel Church at 11am, Thursday, March 3 rd .  Graveside service will immediately follow in Soule Chapel Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Bobby was born September 27 th , 1954 in Macon, MS to the late Robert Taylor and Georgia Alice Britton Taylor.  Bobby was raised near Macon on his family farm. He attended Noxubee County Schools and Central Academy, where he graduated in 1972.  Bobby worked with his father on their family farm early in his life, before becoming a serial entrepreneur which included business ventures that ranged from farming and aviation to businesses that sold everything from advertising to ribeye steaks.  A Hurricane Katrina survivor, Bobby moved back to Crawford in 2012 where he honed his tomato growing skills, attended the occasional concert and passed his lifetime love of shooting pool (and doves) to the next generation.

Over the years, Bobby was affectionately known to his friends as “Cat daddy”, “Hoss Fly”, “Uncle Buck” and “Captin”, but his most enduring title was “Pops” to his grandchildren.   Bobby loved Noxubee County and most importantly all his friends and family that call it home.

Bobby is survived by his son Robbie Taylor (Kristy) of Crawford, MS, daughter Bebe Willcutt of Houston, TX, son Keelyn Ware (Nancy) of Batesville, along with 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be William Willcutt, Neil Taylor, Andy Miller, Will Taylor, Jim Moore, Larry Robbins, Tommy Boykin and Keith Heard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Penick, Kyle Davis, Mike Cooper, Jim Taylor, Richard Mattison, Bill Wilkins Jr., Don White and Jeremy Taylor.  Memorials may be made out to Palmer Home for Children.
