Billy Morton passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Elderly Care in Macon, MS. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Oddfellows Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Any memorials may be made to Elderly Care Center, 496 Magnolia Drive, Macon, MS 39341, or Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. FL 17, Chicago, ILL 60601.
John Billy Morton, Jr. was born on March 8,1951 in West Point, MS to the late John Billy Morton and Mary Alice Trosper. He attended Noxubee High School. Billy worked as a warehouse attendant at TXI in Artesia, MS for thirty-five years. He enjoyed boating, competition cooking as well as cooking and grilling for his family. Billy loved NASCAR and guitar playing. After Billy’s retirement, he took care of his beloved wife, Della during her last years. He was a devoted son, and husband. Martha’s grandchildren became Billy’s grandchildren as he did not have any of his own. He enjoyed spoiling good! Billy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Della Morton, sisters Janet Swinney and Susie Sudduth.
Billy’s survivors include his three sisters: Mary Ann Card of Shuqualak, MS, Judy Triplett of Pontotoc, MS and Martha Hall of Macon, MS; a brother: Eddy Morton of Louisville, MS; numerous nieces and nephews.
