William "Bill" Frank Hayden

October 19, 1931 — July 28, 2018

William Frank “Bill” Hayden, 86, died July 28, 2018, at his home in the Fairport Community of Noxubee County.

Graveside services will be Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Russell Mord officiating.   Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Bethesda Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.  No flowers please.

Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hayden was born October 19, 1931, in Noxubee County to the late Henry Vincent Hayden and Fannie Brooks Hayden.    Once known as the “hardest working man in Noxubee County,” Bill moved his family from Brooksville to Fairport in 1963 where he cleared his family homeplace and ran a successful farming operation for over 50 years.   He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for over 40 years.   Grandchildren knew him best as “Boppaw,” a man who loved his family above everything else.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry “Buddy” Hayden and Harry “Toad” Hayden, and sisters, Mary Hayden,  Ruth “Monk” Hayden,  Annelle “Chuck” Hardesty,  and Betty Clones.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Esta Peavler Hayden; son, William Leslie Hayden (Donna) of Crawford; daughters, Gale Hayden of Crawford, Vera Hayden Taylor (Jim) of Brooksville, and Betty Hayden Eaves of Brooksville; sisters, Felix Hayden King (Bobby) of Raymond and Bebe Hayden Roberson (Jackie) of Meridian; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Taylor, Andrew Eaves, Jeremy Taylor, Forrest Eaves, Josh Hayden,  Robert King,  and Larry Gentry.

Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Heard, Richard Heard, John Hayden, Preston Self, and the Deacons of Bethesda Baptist Church.
