Georgia "B.B." Ruth Adams

Mrs. Georgia Ruth “B.B.” Adams, 88, passed away at her residence in Macon, MS on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. A funeral service is planned for Friday, December 28, 1929 at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Shuqualak Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 510, Macon, MS 39341. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted in the arrangements.

Mrs. Georgia Ruth (B.B.) Adams was born on December 28, 1929 to the late Rufus Richmond and Carrie Luke Watkins in Noxubee County, Mississippi.  She was a graduate of Shuqualak High School. Mrs. Adams worked at Chancellor Wholesale and Fraley’s Big Star until she began her career at Merchants and Farmers Bank.  Mrs . Adams worked her way up in management to become vice president of what is now known as Bank First. She retired after 47 years of service. She married Richard Adams on August 6, 1960 and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her loving husband and wonderful caregiver, Richard Adams of Macon, MS;  a sister: Helen Lindley of Columbus, MS; two brothers: Charlie Watkins (Jewel)  of Columbus, MS  and James “Sugar Pie” Watkins of Macon, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
