Barbara Faye Evans

Mrs. Barbara Faye Lockley Evans, 84, of Diamondhead, MS, formerly of Shuqualak, MS, passed away at Ochsner’s Clinic North Shore on August 22, 2021. A graveside service will be held Thursday August 26, 2021,at 11:00 a.m. at  Eaves Cemetery near the Calyx Community with Dr. Fred Womack officiating. Visitation will be held one hour to prior to the service at the funeral home. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Barbara Faye Lockley Evans looked into the eyes of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 22, 2021. She died peacefully with her family by her side. Those who knew her loved her for graciousness and her genuine southern hospitality. She was adored by all of her children and grandchildren.  She loved her yard and flower gardens and spent hours making them beautiful for everyone to enjoy!  She always had a dog companion and each of them were treated as humans. She loved them all dearly. “Mom, Gran-Gran, Granny B, Friend … Barbara Faye will be terribly missed by all of us but will live forever in our hearts”.

Barbara Faye was born on May 6,1937 in Shuqualak, MS to the late George Washington Lockley and Mamie Irene Knight Lockley. She graduated from Shuqualak High School and spent most of her life as a housewife and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jim Tucker and one daughter: Rhonda Gail Adcock.

Barbara Faye Lockley Evans is survived by two daughters: Anita Sanderford (Jimbo) of Diamondhead, MS and Tammy Briggs (A.J.) of Ocean Springs, MS as well as by one son: Mitch Adcock (Betsy) of The Villages, Fla. Also left to mourn her passing are eight grandchildren: Matt Adcock, Amy Adcock, Wes Sanderford, Hunter Davenport, Chelsea Kozielski  Blake Bonds Keith Briggs and Emily Briggs as well as four great-grandchildren: Jack Adcock, Andrew Hoff, Henry Hoff, and Palmer Hoff.
