Annie Elizabeth Thornton Hunter

Mrs. Annie Hunter, 95, of Macon, MS passed away Friday, April 5, 2024, at Noxubee County Nursing Home in Macon, MS. A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon, MS.  Visitation will be held at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel from 1-1:45 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024. Pastor Brenda Lockley will officiate the service. Cockrell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Annie Elizabeth Thornton Hunter was born in Noxubee County, Mississippi and attended Mashulaville Agricultural High School. In 1946, she married Grady Hunter, Sr. Mrs. Annie, her husband and their infant son, Jimmy, moved to California where they lived for twenty years. In 1967, they returned to Macon where they made their home. Mrs. Annie served as an evangelist along with her husband throughout their married life. They opened a church near their home where they served until retirement. Mrs. Annie is preceded in death by her husband and her son, Jimmy Hunter.

Mrs. Annie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pat Hunter of Macon, MS. who was her sole caregiver after the death of her husband and her son.
