Mr. David E. Bouchillon, 69, of Shuqualak, MS passed away Thursday October 28, 2010 at Jeff Anderson Hospital in Meridian, Miss. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 1, 2010 at Shuqualak Baptist Church with Bro. Derek Wilson and Bro. Gerald Butler officiating. Interment in the family lot at Shuqualak Cemetery will follow the services. A visitation for friends and family will be held Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, Miss. , which is in charge of the services. Any memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 209 North West Street Macon, Miss 39341.
David E. Bouchillon was a native and lifetime resident of Noxubee County. He was born on July 16, 1941 to the late James C. and Nannie Agnes Thomas Bouchillon. He was a 1961 graduate of Shuqualak High School. He attended Woods Junior College for one year before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served 3 years in the Army, including a tour in Germany. After his enlistment ended, he returned home and attended East Mississippi Junior College for one year. He then gained employment at the Macon Pants Factory, progressing from an entry level position to Assistant Manager of the then Cal-Jac Manufacturing Company. After his retirement he worked as an accountant for several local businesses. Mr. Bouchillon was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
David was a loyal sports fan, especially of the Ole Miss Rebels, and enjoyed watching his favorite team.
He was a loving brother and uncle and was very supportive of all his family. He was very friendly and was known for his kind heart and good deeds. Everyone that knew him loved him.
David is survived by 5 sisters: Betty Conner of Macon, MS, Nan Neely of Meridian, MS; Cecelia Floore of Shuqualak, MS; Jo Ann Sciple of Meridian, MS; and Mary Brown of Bailey, MS. as well as by 2 brothers: James Bouchillion of Northport, Ala. and Roland Bouchillon of Bailey, MS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be James Brown, Pete Boykin, Bill Boykin, and Eddie Coleman.
