Mrs. Marie Nichols, 91, of Macon, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled from Saturday, October 2 at 10:30 a.m. from South Haven Mennonite Church with Bro. Leo Classen, Bro. Larry Giesbrecht, and Bro Ron Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the church. Any memorials may be made to Baptist Hospice Golden

Mrs. Nichols was born in Los Animas, CO. on January 24, 1919. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Montezuma, KS where she grew up and attended school. She married John Nichols, with whom she enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his death in 2002. They moved with their family to Noxubee County, MS in 1967 to engage in farming. She was a member of South Haven Mennonite Church. She was a housewife and Homemaker who loved songs and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Carol (Arlo) Johnson, Macon, MS; Joyce (Crist) Gearig, Bradley, AK; and Elaine (Don) Unruh. She is also survived by 1 son; Galen (Carolyn) Nichols, Macon, MS. 2 sisters, Frances Schmidt and Stella (Harry) Schmidt both of Montezuma, KS and 1 brother, Paul (Verbena) Yost Montezuma, KS as well as 16 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 1 great great granchild.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Jusin Unruh, Jeffery Unruh, Josh Unruh, Ron Gearig, Mark Gearig, Samuel Johnson, Steven Johnson, and Wayne Nichols.
