David Brownell Williams

David Brownell Williams, 91, Passed away on July 13, 2010 in Kennesaw, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel, Macon, MS. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Williams was born in Detroit Michigan to the late Samuel Harold and Daisy Brownell Williams.
His mother was the niece of Susan Brownell Anthony who was a famous suffragette. He was a graduate of Birmingham High School for Boys in Birmingham, Alabama. He entered military service as a naval ROTC cadet subsequently enlisted in Army Air Corp where he was a trainer pilot for B24 Liberator Bomber in Liberal, KS during World War II. After that he moved to Richmond, KY and started a car dealership and later he worked for the GM Pontiac Motor division and moved to Macon, GA. He later became a partner in a car dealership doing business as Macon Dodge. He subsequently retired from that and worked in commercial real estate with timber tract sales until he retired at age 70. He married the former Maude Reid Adams of Macon, MS who preceded him in death. He was a member of Mulberry St. Methodist Church in Macon, GA. Also he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Blaine Williams .

Survivors include 4 sons: David Williams of Kennesaw, GA; John Williams of Kennesaw, GA; Charles Williams of Savannah, GA and Edward Williams of Conyers, GA. And six grandchildren.
