Larry Bailey Cooper, 78, Of Macon, MS passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Louisville Health Care Center in Louisville, MS. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Macon, MS with Dr. Andy Pearson officiating. Visitation will be held in the church sanctuary Thursday from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. Memorials may be made to FUMC, P.O. Box 162, Macon, MS 39341 or Alzheimer Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.

Larry B. Cooper was born on October 7, 1939 to the late Warner Bailey and Era Sattewhite Cooper in Corpus Christi, Texas. He moved to Macon when he was nine years old and graduated from Macon High School. Larry attended Mississippi State University. He married Sharon Taylor and worked as a dairy farmer and row crop farmer. He served as an active member and past president of the Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Board. Larry later owned Trulock’s for a period of time and worked for Penick Forest Products and later the City of Macon. He was an active member of First Methodist Church and the Macon Lions Club. Larry was also a member of the Frith Lake Club and was also an avid pilot and hunter. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Betty Jo Johnston and brother: Burton Cooper.

Larry is survived by his wife of 57 years: Sharon T. Cooper of Macon, MS; three daughters: Melinda Pimentel of Marietta, GA; Melanie Dinsmore of Macon, MS; and Marisa Ward of Katy, TX one son: Mike Cooper of Macon, MS; one sister: Virginia Kay Harvey of Meridian, MS and by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
