Pennsylvania Vandevender Clark

August 8, 1920 — January 10, 2018

Mrs. Pennsylvania Vandevender Clark, 97, of Macon, MS passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Sturgis, MS. Her funeral service will be held at Butler Pentecostal Church near Shuqualak, MS on Saturday, January 13 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Allen Eaves officiating. Interment will follow on the family lot in Butler Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 P.M. until service time on Saturday. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Pennsylvania Vandevender was born to the late Earnest Christopher and Onie Patterson Vandevender on August 8, 1920 in Winston County, MS. She attended Winston County public schools and then married the late R.W. Clark. They moved to the Butler Community in Noxubee County where she began working as a presser for the Macon Garment Factory in Macon. Mrs. Clark later worked for American Bosch and then Cal-Jac, from which she retired at age 70. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and cut her own lawn until later in her years until a foot injury forced her to stop. Mrs. Clark was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed quilting. She attended Butler Pentecostal Church and later, after moving to Macon, attended Macon Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Clark is preceded in death by her husband Robert William Clark; son, Sammy Clark; grandson, Mike Collins and great grandson, Jason McAdory.

Mrs. Pennsylvania V. Clark is survived by five children Mary Goodin, Bell Higginbotham, Rachell Collins, Robert Clark, and Glenn Clark; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Also surviving her are her siblings; Christeen Clark, Elvis Vandevender, Bob Vandevender, Elvin Vandevender, Punk Vandevender, and Earnestine Lee.
