Mrs. Grace Kitchens Taylor, 97, of Macon, MS passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Shuqualak, Mississippi. Her funeral service is planned for Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Salem Memorial Church near Macon, MS with Bro. Barry Hathcock officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery.

Mrs. Grace Kitchens Taylor was born on April 22, 1920 to the late Langford and Ozie Aust Kitchens in Scooba, MS. She graduated from East Mississippi Junior College as valedictorian of her class. She married Charles W. Taylor in 1940. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and a working farmer’s wife. She was City Clerk for the City of Macon and longtime employee of A. Klaus & Co. She was a true Christian lady who lived by her motto, “ If you can’t say something good about someone don’t say anything at all.” Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong member of Salem Community Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, youth leader and treasurer. She was a member of Joyful Hearts and Ageless Wonders where she had many friends and fun times. Her life revolved around her love for her family and her Lord. Her quiet and gentle spirit leaves a legacy of love to all who knew her. Truly she was God’s Amazing Grace. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Roy K. Kitchens and T.J. Kitchens; sisters, Eleanor Teague, Virginia Aust, Leona Lavender, and Mary Barrier Caraway.

She is survived by three daughters, Emily Godwin (Jim), Nancy Weaver (Bobby Joe), Charlene Jourdan (Glenn); 9 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her and also a brother-in-law, Robert Taylor.
