Ruth Trimble Sparkman

June 10, 1919 — August 20, 2017

Mrs. Ruth Trimble Sparkman, 98, of the Cooksville Community, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle. Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Cooksville United Methodist Church with Bro. Glen Miller officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be in the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cooksville United Methodist Church, 325 Paulette Rd, Macon, MS 39341. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Ruth Trimble Sparkman was born on June 10, 1919 in the Elon Community of Noxubee County to the late Robert Minor and Clemie Eiland Trimble. She was a graduate of Macon High School and attended MS State College for Women. She married Paul P. Sparkman in 1947 and moved to his home in the Cooksville Community where she lived until her death. She worked for different employers as a book-keeper and retired from Chancellor Wholesale Grocery. Mrs. Sparkman was an active member of Cooksville United Methodist Church and also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed using flowers out of her garden to make floral arrangements for church services and also enjoyed painting.
Mrs. Sparkman is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Paul P. Sparkman; one brother: Louis Trimble; and one sister: Ethel Trimble.

Mrs. Sparkman is survived by her two daughters: Clemie (Tommy) McGee of Macon, MS and Ethel (Rick) Troyanek of Gulf Shores, AL; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
