TOMMY TATE HOLMAN

Tommy Tate Holman passed away peacefully at his home on July 21, 2015. He was born in West Point, MS to Jack Nicholas Holman and Betty Tate Holman on October 16, 1929. Tommy was raised in Macon, MS and graduated from Macon High. He received his Bachelors and Masters degree in accounting from the University of MS in Oxford.

Tommy spent most of his adult life in Metairie, LA where he worked for the New Orleans Bank for Cooperatives and retired as a Senior Vice President in 1985. His favorite past-time was reading about history and repairing small electronics.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Basham Holman and daughter, Margaret Weinbrenner (Joerg), and 3 grandchildren, Lian Harris (Tyler), Jennifer and Nicklas Weinbrenner. Other surviving family members include his nieces, Rachael George, Betty Day Holman Wallace, Denise and Debra Keeney and Brandie Permenter and nephews, J N Holman, III Bradley Permenter and their families.

Tommy was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Permenter Holman, as well as, by his sister, Margaret Holman George and her husband, Richard George. His brother, J.N. Holman, Jr (Miekie) passed away in 2016.

On Sunday July 9, 2017, friends and family will be gathering at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Macon, MS starting at 11:00, followed by services to bury Tommy's ashes in Odd Fellows Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is in charge of arrangements.
