Eddie Brooks Adcock was born on May 26, 1951, to the late Henry Brooks and Lessie Eaves Adcock in Noxubee County, Mississippi. He grew up in the Butler Community near Shuqualak. He attended Noxubee County High School. For many years he was the owner and operator of his own trucking company. He proudly boasted that he had driven to forty-six of the forty-eight continental United States and to Canada. He would often jest, to younger truckers, that he had backed up more miles that they had driven forward. After his retirement, he drove a log truck part-time and enjoyed fishing at any opportunity he could find. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Adcock, and two sisters, Peggy Adcock and Bonnie Plunk, and a brother, Jack Adcock.
He is survived by a son, Brooks Adcock of Hattiesburg, his sister, Bobbie Thomas (Fred) of Columbus, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
