Mrs. Helen Thomas Cade, 92, of Wahalak, MS passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Cockrell Funeral Home Chapel, Macon, MS at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Walt Tessier and Bro. John Burks officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703. Cockrell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Cade was born in Kemper County on February 1, 1925 to the late James Cecil and Eva Persons Thomas. She graduated from high school in Scooba, MS and went on to teach High School classes at Shuqualak during the war. She finished her degree at Miss Southern and Mississippi University for Women. She was a homemaker and owned and operated Cades Grocery with her husband, Charlie Cade, for many years. She loved her family dearly and was always there for them. She loved fishing better than anything. She was a member of Wahalak Baptist Church where she served as secretary-treasurer with her husband for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister, Mary Agnes Stuart, three brothers, Malcom, Earl and Cecil Donald Thomas
Mrs. Cade is survived by a son Al Cade of Montgomery, TX; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
