James Christopher Mcguire

James Christopher “Chris” McGuire died Monday, March 20, 2017. A graveside service was held at Oddfellows Cemetery in Macon, Mississippi on March 26, 2017. Cockrell Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. www.cockrellfuneralhome.com. A memorial celebration will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana at a later date.

He was born in Macon, Mississippi on April 18, 1953 and lived in Macon until he left to attend the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduating from Southern, he moved to Jackson, Mississippi and worked for Mississippi ETV for 10 years. He left ETV to further his career as a Chief Lighting Technician for various television, movie, and entertainment productions in Jackson, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisiana.Chris was predeceased by his mother, Virginia McGuire of Macon, Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Mimi McGuire of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, his sons, Matthew McGuire of Jackson, Mississippi and Mason McGuire of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and two grandchildren, Me’ah and Silas of Jackson, Mississippi. He is also survived by his father, Phil McGuire of Macon, Mississippi, two brothers, Mike McGuire of Ft. Worth, Texas and Buz McGuire of Macon, Mississippi, and one sister, Ginny Winchester of Macon, Mississippi.
