Mabel Guy Peters

Mabel Guy Peters, 90, went to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March
12, 2017. She died peacefully at her residence after a brief illness.

Mrs. Peters was born on April 16, 1926, in Noxubee County, MS, the first child of James Jackson Guy and Ruth Walker Guy. She graduated from Macon High School in 1944. She and Frank Perry Peters were married on August 26, 1944 when he returned from WWII duties in the the South Pacific. They celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to his death. Tog ther they established six businesses in the Noxubee County area. She was a member of the Shuqualak Baptist Church where she and her husband were long term residents. After moving to Macon she attended the Salem Memorial Church.

Services will be on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Salem Memorial
Church near Macon, MS. The service will begin at 2:00 PM with
visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon, MS is in charge of
arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is
survived by a daughter, Perian Peters Kerr of Macon, MS: a son, Dr. James Glenn Peters (Nancy) of Louisville, MS; a brother, Ira G. Guy of Starkville, MS; four grandchildren, Pamela Peters Bixler (Gaillard),Judith Peters Rogers, Caroline Ware Peters, and James Glenn Peters, Jr. (Larkin); and ten great grandchildren.
