Betty C. Wootten

.Mrs. Betty Cockrell Wootten, 93, of Macon, MS passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Pioneer Community Hospital of Aberdeen, MS. A graveside service for Mrs. Wootten will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Soule Chapel Cemetery near Brooksville, MS. There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, P.O. Box 15826, Arlington, VA 22215. Cockrell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Betty Cockrell Wootten was born on September 8, 1923 to the late Harrison and Betty Featherston Cockrell and was a lifetime resident of Noxubee County. She was a graduate of Macon High School. She married Al Wootten and together they owned and operated Al ‘s Cash Grocery for over forty years. Mrs. Wootten was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed yardwork and flowers. In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her two sons: Johnny and Richard Wootten.

Those who survive Mrs. Wootten include her daughter: Patricia Strickland of Hamilton, MS; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one sister: Kay Murry of Denton, TX.
