Kenneth Ray Harvey

Kenneth R. Harvey, 78, of Oxford, MS passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford. Funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 105 Dent St., Macon, MS on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is entrusted with arrangements.

Kenneth Ray Harvey was born on April 19, 1938 in China Springs, TX to the late Ralph B. and Mary Slough Harvey. After graduating from Mississippi State University with a BA in Accounting, Ken worked for Arthur Anderson in Memphis, TN. Over the years, Ken career path within the meat packing industry included many different leadership roles and locations including time with Cook Foods, Patrick Cudahy and Hygrade Foods in Tacoma, WA. In 1980, Ken joined GI Trucking, LaMirada, California where he worked as CFO until his retirement in 1993. Ken is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glen Harvey and Oliver Harvey.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife: Josie Harvey of Oxford, MS; daughter, Susan Hadaway of Schofield, WI., three sons, Michael T Harvey of Fullerton, CA., David Harvey of Graham, WA., and Richard Harvey of Phoenix, AZ .; four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
