Mrs. Charlie T. Lee, 96, of Macon, MS passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, September 5,at 11:00 a.m. from Independent Methodist Church with Bro. Barry Hathcock officiating. Interment will follow in Mashulaville Cemetery near Macon. Visitation will be at the church Monday from 10:00 until service time. Memorials may be made to Independent Methodist Church, P.O. Box 421, Macon, MS 39341 or to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon (www.cockrellfuneralhome.com) is entrusted with the service arrangements.

Mrs. Lee was born on July 31, 1920 to the late Charlie T. and Annie M Clay Rogers in Winston County, MS. She graduated from Central High School and was married to Johnnie F. Lee, who preceded her in death. They made their home in Noxubee County. Mrs. Lee was employed as a seamstress at Cal- Jac until her retirement in 1983 after 30 years of service. After her retirement, she began to care for her grandchildren. Mrs. Lee was a longtime member of Independent Methodist Church and was active in the church for as long as her health allowed her to be. She was a very friendly and caring person who enjoyed spending time with her friends and neighbors and was known for her special hugs. She was a great cook and was known for her fried chicken, pecan pies, and her homemade biscuits. She loved to be with her family at every opportunity. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; one brother; her husband; one son: Sgt. Johnnie Gene Lee; and by one grandson: Lee Sciple.

Mrs. Lee is survived one daughter: Betty Lee Millis of Brandon, MS and by two sons: Wesley Lee and Donald Lee, both of Macon, MS. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
