Angie Conn Cooper was born February 08, 1965, in Macon, MS, to the Buddy Conn and Janice Bell. She passed away July 04, 2016, at her residence in Robbinsville, NC. Angie was a native of Shuqualak, MS, and a graduate of Central Academy in Macon. She went on the further her education at East Mississippi Community College and The University of West Alabama, where she received her Associates degree in Nursing. Angie married the love of her life, Tim Cooper on February 11, 1983, together they had two sons. The family resided in Naniah Waiya, MS and later moved to Tupelo, MS before their final descent to Robbinsville, NC. Angie worked as an RN at Noxubee General Hospital for 16 years. There she took care of thousands of patients, pouring out her heart for them daily. She had a compassionate soul and lived to serve the needs of others. Angie also had an avid love for baseball. Not a game went by that she didn’t watch the Atlanta Braves try to bring home a win. She also enjoyed watching college football and was an avid Ole Miss fan. Angie had one sister, Candy, whom she loved dearly. She always loved to tell the story of how her Daddy wouldn’t let her go anywhere unless Candy went too. She always said she hated that she tagged along, but later in life was glad that she did, because it led to a lifelong friendship that she would cherish forever. In 2008, life took an unexpected turn for Angie, as she suffered a stroke. The Stroke affected the use of her left side, taking with it her ability to work and her personal independence. In spite of her hardships, she remained a “firecracker”, to say the least, she remained able to tell others what she wanted, when she wanted it, and how she wanted things done! She always managed to make the best of her situation. Through hard work and Physical Therapy, she was able to walk with the use of a cane, until suffering a second stroke. She was not able to bounce back as well from the setback, however she fought bravely until she just couldn’t fight anymore. Throughout this eight year journey, her husband Tim dedicated his time, love and effort to caring for Angie full time. This led to an impeccable bond that will never be forgotten by many. Tim deserves a gold medal for the love and devotion he showed to Angie, day to day, throughout until the end of her life. She spent her last moments in this life holding the hand of her best friends, her sister and her husband.
Angie’s proudest accomplishments in life were her two sons: Samuel, who attends Ole Miss studying film. He and wife Kayleigh live in Oxford, MS, along with his brother Thomas, who also attends Ole Miss studying Journalism. Angie and Tim moved to Tupelo in 2013, in order to be closer to their sons. Angie so enjoyed the time she got to spend with them while she was there. In 2014, Angie and Tim moved to Robbinsville, NC, to be closer to her mother Janice. She was so excited to be able to see “Momma” every day and eat some of her good home cooking. In the months leading up the move, Angie would tell anyone and everyone where she was going and how excited she was to go! Janice was so good to Angie, she loved her very much and aided in her care as much as she could. Angie truly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her Mother. Her mother was also able to be with Angie when she was called home, the care and love that she showed for Angie is immeasurable.
Angie is preceded in death by her Father William Davis Conn of Shuqualak, MS.
She is survived by her mother Janice Bell of Robbinsvile, NC; her husband of 33 years, Tim Cooper of Dumas, MS; her son Samuel Cooper and his wife Kayleigh and son Thomas Cooper all of Oxford, MS and one sister Candy Ashmore of Noxapater, MS.
