With tears of overwhelming joy, we welcomed Jase Benjamin, and with tears of intense sorrow, we let him slip away.
Jase joined our family on June 18, 2014, along with his twin brother Jared Blake, at Northport, Alabama. We were so excited about our little twin boys and it has been an incredible experience. It lasted a short eighteen months.
With his beautiful red hair and sparkly blue eyes, he stole our hearts completely. With shrieks of delight, he would meet his daddy at the door when he came home from work. Always a bright spot, he was free with his smiles and a mischievous little smirk.
He had a very special relationship with his Papa Ken. It was hard to tell who loved the other more. Their greeting to each other, "Hey Dude", was priceless coming from his little lips.
A typical little boy, he loved to be outside playing with his brothers. Big brother Caleb (age 3 1/2) loved to watch over "the brothers" and be the protector. It was with a worried look on his face, holding Jared's hand, that Caleb told Mama that Jase was by the water. We begged God to let us keep our baby Jase, but his book was closed and complete. A vivid image of his Grandpa Miller and Auntie Diana with stunning smiles, welcoming him Home as he ran and hugged their legs, will be a precious memory for Mama.
Although our earthly minds struggle with the "whys", we know our God never makes mistakes.
Jesus called Jase home to be His perfect angel on December 9, 2015. His life ended doing what he loved best, playing outside with his two brothers. Death was the result of a drowning accident.
Left with broken hearts are Daddy and Mama, James and Kari Loewen; big brother Caleb; his best friend and twin brother Jared; paternal grandparents, Ken and Della Loewen, Geiger, Alabama; maternal grandmother, Lois Miller, Kidron, Ohio; paternal great grandparents, Abe and Bernettie Loewen, Geiger, Alabama; maternal great grandparents, Dan and Elsie Miller, Hardinsburg, Indiana; uncles and aunts: Daniel and Rita Koehn, Matthew and Susan Yost, Brandon Loewen, all of Geiger, Alabama; Howard and Kendra Miller, Jeromesville, Ohio; Kerry and Loretta Toews, Almena, Wisconsin; Ken and Linda Troyer, Kidron, Ohio; Joel and Maria Troyer, Tonasket, Washington; and twenty-one cousins.
He joins our loved ones in Heaven: Grandpa Mahlon Miller and Auntie Diana.
Saddened with us are many dear friends.
