Charles Floyd Hardy

Charles Floyd Hardy, 68, of Scooba, MS, formerly of Decatur, IL, went to be with our heavenly Father at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home chapel on Oakland in Decatur with visitation from 5 to 7 Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. A memorial service for Charles’ friends in Mississippi will be held at a later date.

Charles was born January 28, 1947, in Decatur, IL, to the parents of Floyd and Joyce Hardy. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Baker, March 19, 1965, and together they had 4 sons. Charles and Barbara attended Foursquare Church in Decatur before moving to Mississippi where they attended Cross Mountain Ministries in Porterville, MS.

Charles enjoyed gardening, landscaping, reading, and playing Mexican train with friends. He also thoroughly enjoyed photography, and he loved his dogs, Ziggy, Lizzy and Sadie who all preceded him in death.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, his sons, Charles Floyd II of Gulfport, MS, William Todd (Donna) of Decatur, IL, Timothy Fate (Kari) of Shuqualak, MS, and Chad Andrew (Lisa) of Decatur, IL, and grandchildren, Amanda Danielle Hardy of Warrensburg, IL, Timothy Fate Hardy II (Alicia) of Scooba, MS, Jessica Lynn Hardy of Austin, TX, Autumn Allen Hardy of Shuqualak, MS, Airman Zachary Jordan Hardy (Emma) of Oklahoma City, OK, Sari Morgan Hardy of Shuqualak, MS, Austin Koehler Hardy of Decatur, IL, William Slade Hardy of Shuqualak, MS, Mason Andrew Hardy of Decatur, IL, and great granddaughters Natalie Joyce Hardy of Warrensburg, IL, and Ava Grace Hardy of Scooba, MS. He is also survived by two brother in-laws, Larry Michael Baker (Barbara) of Decatur, IL, and Steven Ray Baker (Cathy) of Robertsville, MO and nephew Dustin Baker.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (William Lee), brother in law (Donald Baker), and sisters in law (Deborah Lynn Baker and Marsha Kay Baker).
